So I'm contemplating about removing my baffles from my stock slim. If I do so, would I need a high flow breather and a tune? Or if in going that route should I just buy aftermarket pipes as well?

Go to www.cyclesolutions.com They have Bub slip ons on sale for $129 a pair shipped and complete Rush long chrome system for $269 plus the flange kit. These are for Softail with staggered mufflers, not the shotgun mufflers. You will not be happy with baffle removal. I believe your "cats" are in your mufflers also.

I bought the rush full system for $269.99. Pretty damn nice expecially for that price.

Best deal I have come across on a complete long system. My friend installed these on his 2008 Heritage, took him about 3 hrs, looks and sounds great. Pipe quality and fit were good and ceramic coated to keep them cooler.
I'm assuming you've checked out bikes with no baffles/drag pipes. Been there, done that, and it was a mistake for me. Beyond performance questions, it was just WAY too loud for longer rides.
If you are just putting on pipes then it will be ok just piecing it together. Pipes only won't require a tune if that is your concern. Personally I would do the pipes now if funds allow. Sometimes it's easier to swallow the cost for mods in increments then in one big expense.
