my husband and I both have HD mine is an 07 heritage and his is a 03 heritage springer. we just came home from a trip and his vss went. It quit a couple of years ago and it was replaced at a dealer would like to replace it ourselves. Can anyone help us.

I see nothing wrong with posting this question in the Softail subforum. There are dozens of very knowledgeable members, including some techs. Many times the tech forums don't generate many responses like they get here.
A vss going bad in 2 years?? Sounds odd. Have you tried just cleaning it off before replacing it? An Allen wrench and some patience should be all you need to get it out.
