one helpful advice, made sure the tool you are useing fits correctly and always make sure its all the way seated before you start applying pressure.. and keeps fully seated..
Which torx head bolts are by the tail light? I bought a set of torx bits from Sears, that seem to be good quality. When I removed the torx bolts from the fender struts, I had to use a cheater bar over the handle of my ratchet in order to break them loose. I have read that you will have problems with rounding out the heads of the bolts, if you use a cheap set of torx bits.

make sure you have good quality torx sockets. i wouldnt consider craftsmans tolerances on super tight fastners, if you use a quality torx socket of the correct size and it feels like its goingto round off. dip the end of your bit in valve lapping compound, the grit in the lapping compound will give that bit extra bite.i have actually removed rounded out torxs and allens with this tip. good luck, hope you dont have to put a drill on your bike....kerrry
