Default Oil Leak

I've got a slight oil leak on a 2006 night train. It is at the rear of the cases. It looks like it starts half way up and runs down the seem. Anyone else had this problem. Taking it to the shop Monday.

Not sure what you mean "at the rear of the cases". Not a mechanic. My outer primary gasket was bad- leaked very slowly for about 3 years before I decided to have it fixed. Cost about $200 for the gasket change plus an oil change with some synthetic oil. If you post a picture you might get some better advice.

How's that Thundermax ECM working out for you?

Jeffrey, I really like the Thundermax. Put it on last Sept.
and I'm well pleased with the performance. As for pics I
have none to post but it's the bottom end of the motor,
what you would split to get to the crank.

Ouch- that's a bigger deal than my oil leak was.

Did you get the autotune with your thundermax?

Monkey, I have a 06 Heritage, I had a slite oil leak at the case seem under the bike. To make a long story short, the engine had to comee out and the cases were split and re-sealed. The mechanic at the H.D. dealer said he has done quite a few re-seals. Luckly my bike was under warenty.

Thanks for the info Grey. Mine is still under warranty as well
and the dealer has me scheduled in this afternoon. They are going
to put dye in the oil to verify the source then they need Harley's
blessing to repair.

I had a small leak at the rocker box(a lot easier than the cases) on my train when I first got it.Mechanic said a little peice of the black coating was still on it when it was assembled and that's what caused the leak.Maybe the same thing is happening with your cases.
