Default Oil Leak Fixed

I noticed an oil leak the last couple times I changed the oil.It was was not real bad until the last time I rode it leaving a couple of nickel size drops when parked.
So When I changed the oil last weekend I found the leak.

The leak was coming from the stator wiring grommet.
I cleaned the area real good then applied some black RTV around the grommet. So far so good.
Now I just need to clean the bottom end .

I tried a couple times but it never seems to hold. Annoying. And I am not pulling the primary apart for that.

Glad it's seems to be working for you. I had this problem a few years ago on my '07 Ultra. Tried the RTV fix a few times but it just wouldn't stop the leak. Finally replaced a perfectly good stator just to stop an annoying leak. The engineers who integrated that plug into the stator as a non-replaceable part should have been fired, but probably got promoted.

The trick is in the cleaning. You have to get it very clean, even behind the lip, with some that leaves no residue. Then be sure to get the silicone behind the lip as well. It takes a little bit of effort and is messy but if you take your time it will seal well and be nearly impossible to tell.
Mines been holding for going on two years now.

I wish you only had to pull the primary off.

It was pretty dirty around the grommet.
I used carb cleaner then water soluble cleaner with a toothbrush.Rinsed the area with water then blew it off with air.
