Default Fatboy question

Ok, I have ordered the passing lamps, ordered the Nacelle, the new wheels are here and the lower chrome forks are coming soon. I am considering having a custom paint job on the bike and was wondering if it hurts the value of the bike if it is an 03 100th anniversary edition. I am not saying that it will be a collectors edition or anything like that, I was just wondering if the consumer prefers this over a personalized paint job.

Just check the prices of earlier anniversary editions. The chances of your bike commanding a huge premium in your lifetime are slim to none.

Personally I'd do what I wanted with the bike now and not worry about what it "might" be worth in 25-30 years.

if it's one of the not so usual "03" paintsets..get a used (don't have to be in great shape, justrelatively straight)set of tins off e-bay orwherever and bag your old ones and you should be able to recoup some of your cost selling your stock paintset if they are in good shape. I think HD sold about 300,000 bikes in 03 so I don't think they will ever be very "rare".

I've got the 100th. Value to me is not important, but not considering changing paint or tins. Bike is gorgeous the way its. Value is in the eye of the beholder.

Do what you want, it's yours.
