I could not get a season outa my rear with the Dunlops. yes, I maintained 'em decent.. (a bud told me to be grateful.. that means I'm riding a lot)! usually 12-15 a year? well dammit those days seem to be on hold :-(..
Anyway, I still want to put good rubber back there.. last I had the Michelin Commander II's. they seemed to both handle well, and last. I was going to try the Metzler 880's? any fedback on either or, or another? oh FLSTSC.....
Thanx! Really! I appreciate advice like this. I just ordered the 888's. I did notice they said they were for people who ride two up and/or loaded over 50% of the time. I do not. I have oversized bags on there and usually fairly full. Hope it will be ok. still, what do ya think would happen anyway?
It got totalled early in the year and hopin to get it back in a few more weeks? Glad I have the Gerbings. I'll be in the wind 'till packed snow..... dan
Yes stay away from the 880s for sure at least the 210/17. I got 3800 miles and had cords showing. About crapped when I seen that. I'm running the MCII's and they're lasting better than the D's and Met's. Let us know how the 888's work out.
I'm running the MCII's and have great traction in wet or dry conditions. I have only 3k on them so far and they still look new. I care more about traction than I do about tire wear.

My other scoot is a 67fl. I remember when I bought it, some 29 years ago, and it still had original rubber on it! I found out why: I equated them to that hard rubber on a kids tricyle (no air ones). they were awful and came off pretty quick! ( I shoulda SAVED 'em though huh?!
The 880's are being phased out and the Metz 888 is the replacement. The Triple 8's ride hard and do not stick like the 880's, but they likely will get 50-75% better miles.
