Hey guys,

I'm thinking about a new seat for my '05 Deuce. It has a stock one on now and I'm looking for a little lower, a little farther forward, and better back support if I can get all that. I've been looking at the Sidekick and Badlander. Can anyone tell me how these 2 seats sit compared to a stock one?

Rick

I can only comment on the Corbin Gunfighter on the Deuce. It is slightly lower, MAYBE slightly forward, has a ton of back support, looks good and stock sissy bar works on mine. Feels like it is made of leather grained pine, but remains reasonably comfortable nevertheless. John

I'm also looking for a new seat for my 07 Fatboy. I went to my local dealer to take a look at the different seats.Dealer said the Badlander is like a piece of wood wrapped in leather....very hard! He recommended the Sidekick...more comfort and a little extra back support.

I've noticed several posts about Deuces lately that have been about the handlebars being too far forward.

Have you thought about changing the bars instead, unless your foot controls are also too far forward?

I just ordered and am awaiting some new handlebars and risers (and riser adapters) for my Deuce. The sucker kills my lower back from leaning forward.

Believe it or not, I'm going to put the adapters on (to adjust for the fact that the Deuce risers are cut down on the bottom) and then I'm going to put Heritage risers on it.

Next, I just bought on Ebay three new takeoff Harley handlebars. A Heritage, a Wide Glide and a Softail Standard. The Wide Glide set comes with all of the cables. Those cables are longer than mine and might work on any of the bars. (I hope.) I don't want to buy new cables either until I know what the final decision is.

I'm betting that the Heritage bars, which are similar to the Fatboy bars but have another 2.5 inches of rise, will work best, but if not then the Wide Glides are higher and narrower and the Softails are lower and narrower.

I'll post my decision and some comparison pics when I get to trying them all on.

I might mention that I have a 96 Wide Glide that doesn't give me these back pains...

I got all of these cheap of course and didn't want to gamble on new aftermarket bars that I couldn't try out first. Once I figure out what lets me sit more upright and looks OK, I can order something similar aftermarket and put a bunch of stuff back on Ebay.

I promise I'll post pics of all three from different angles as I try them on.

My Deuce may be looking like my Wide Glide soon...

JB
