Valve train noises?
VI, under light to mid accel while in too high a gear i have the same pinging, only when i am in too high a gear, i took it back to shop to recheck valves etc last week. builder told me its normal with cams, built up motor. it doesnt change with high octane or a booster added either.
i know i dont care for it but im not sure what can be done for it either. next spring i may go back to my dyno guy and have him ride and check it out and maybe change cams. i have the se211 now but i dont recall it when i had the se203s

Ok, is everyone ready for this?
I ended up at my indie for half an hour and he took off the primary inspection cover and checked the chain even though I said it really didn't sound like an engine noise and after listening it started sounding like it was coming from the gas tank/ console. I removed the seat and the console and checked everything and it was tight. The indie said it could be the wires under the tank and to check it out. So after that I was off. I had to stop by the butcher before I went home and started putting my clutch hand over things to try and rule out the location. I was leaning farther and farther forwards and could still hear it coming from the front.
So here I am leaning over the triple trees with the bike revving at a constant 3K and I reach forward and grab the headlight and it stops.
It was my daymaker and I bought the rubber vibration damper from HD but never installed it. It's on now and not making any noise. /face palm
