The rear wheels went back to PM for a 2nd time, the struts, headlight, marker lights went to powder coat, the tank was shipped for paint and hopefully in a few weeks I will have her screaming down the highway. Never Again!
Hey DD, haven't heard from Pro, Voodoo and the others in a long while. I hope they're all doing fine. Nice to hear from you btw. Welcome Rocker, Love the Deuce man. Mt325, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you bro. Let's hope PM gets it right this time....
looks like its almost the end of our season down here. it got up to 106 today! i'm working on the ultra right now and its keeping me busy but i ride the deuce a few times a week...mostly bar to bar.... one of these days i gotta do the heads on the deuce so it will run like it should...soon as i get some spare cash...lol
Sorry for the bad experience with PM.... my stuff was perfect
The gasser rims was perfect... I'm running the 18 x 5.5 gasser with a drive side hub and a 200 metzler (no 200 tire kit just some simple mods)..
also running the PM sprocket brake (removed belt and replaced with chain)
I replaced my dash with a painted vivid black. I also bought a screaming eagle speedo
the speedo i bought was new and the factory put 2500 miles on it. my original mileage is 6136.
I went to the dealer and they said they would match the new speedo'd mileage to my old one. they didn't give me a price but the service manager was like i would just live with.
My question has anyone replace there speedo and run into issues when it is time for
inspection?
I replaced mine years ago, when I bought my bike from USA it had a mph speedo and had to buy a km one up here, but didn't have any issues...you have less miles on your bike than the speedo and they should adjust the miles on it...enzo
I changed my original speedo to a Dakota Digital. I kept the old speedo and had a tech
at HD certify the mileage before I made the switch to the Dakota.
I'm sorry, I know this has been discussed, but frankly, the search function sucks. I know I read the Rocker flush mount gas cap and fuel guage fits the Deuce. Will it fit and work on a 2001 carburated Deuce. Big doins' going on. New front fender, PM Phatail kit, new wheels, paint job...Getting close. Can't wait. Figure might as well do flush mount too. Thanks...
take a look at the picture i posted above. i have a 05 fuel injected, i used the soft tail version and fitted the gas cap ring to my tank using a heat gun.
depending on the color of your tank (the top of mine is black) you can not see the gap
which is on the inside (towards console)
if you search my threads (tutiii) you might find the info you are looking for. i asked the same questions about a year ago.
