I've not had mine out at night yet ... But I've not seen many stock headlights that could find deer as well as I'd like. I don't really have any big mod plans. It already had Stage 1 when I got it home. So now just the usual stuff like pegs, grips, handful of dress-up items that I like.
I went out looking at a V-Rod, but this Deuce caught my eye. First time I've seen a white H-D that did so, and I wasn't aware '07 was the only year with the 96 / 6 combo until after I bought it. Sometimes you just get lucky. Curious how long you've had your Deuce - Buy it new?
I don't ride at night much but even for daylight riding my headlight sucks. I always have it on high beam cause everyone I ride with said it was really dim in daylight.
I bought mine on eBay in 09 w, 7000 miles on it. I always loved the deuce but was never ready financially when they still made them. It was stock except for the chrome controls and grips etc on the bars.
I added the stage 1, the wheels, exhaust , air cleaner, siren for the silent alarm(radio shack mod), rear brake turn lights run all time(for get what the kit is called),and other chrome items here and there.
07DeuceTX,,,Our wheel is a HD they came on the SE models yep I like it over the spoke wheel and now I have mags front n rear,as for the headlight I have been using a 80/100 watt bulb works great,a good upgrade without breking the bank and easy to change..
AR-15, I finally washed the bike and had a closer look at the front wheel. Saw the raised H-D logo. I'm still running the stocker in the rear, but it's not impossible I'd change it someday. I like your setup!
iRider, this may seem an odd comment in a Deuce section ... But I wasn't itching for one when they made them. I was more in the Springer mode then, and I was never 100% on that rear fender treatment.
Guess it must have grown on me! I always loved the front and tank. I never left the house thinking I'd buy a Deuce, or a white H-D. But then I saw this one sitting there needing a new home. Come to Papa!
Just picked this up for a steal. 2005, 14k miles, carbureted. I really like how the bike looks stock, but I can't leave anything alone. Later on down the road I plan on throwing on some 16" Carlini Gangster Apes, LED headlights and signals, maybe bump the rear out to 200mm, but we will see. Maybe throw on a Shotgun Shock if I start feeling spunky.
I've been without a bike for about 2.5 years, so I'm glad to be back on 2 wheels.
Here is my old bike. I guess I'll need to change my signature block now.
Kinda feels weird going from blacked-out to chrome, but I think it'll grow on me.
Captain, nice score on the Deuce! Love that color. I didn't plan on doing anything to mine either, but I know me ... First name basis with the UPS and FedEx drivers now. I too was without a bike for a couple of years. Feels great to be back in the saddle. Again, nice ride ... Be safe!
I bought my 06 in October of 05. Also was really looking for a V Rod but when I walked into the dealer and saw a Deuce sitting there I couldn't stay away from it. Ended up taking it home the next weekend.
Deucedog, nice!! Maybe there's a support group for big twin fans who went in looking for a V-Rod, but couldn't resist the allure of a nearby Deuce. Wonder if it would be a big group ... Or just a few of us sitting around trading the same stories session after session?!
