Hey all, new 05 springer classic owner here. (I don't get it until spring though so no pictures for a while.) Been checking out the info here and planning stage I. Love your bikes and can't wait to get mine.
I have been checking out slip-ons also and I know there are two different se slip-ons for the dual crossovers. One is street legal 65178-05 and the other is not 65980-97. I'm assuming the street legal ones are quiet and the others are pretty loud. Can anyone confirm this, I don't want the quiet ones either? I have also been considering the samson fishtails and the vance and hines fishtails.
cheers
Hey Jip, welcome to the springer club. I had the SE street legal slip-ons put on my springer classic. They are a notch louder then stock but not loud enough for me. I ended up swapping them out for Vance & Hines short shots. Check out my gallery on the left. I decided to do away with the cross-over so I had many more options available. I'm not sure about the difference between the two you listed but I would assume you are correct about the difference being the volume.
Congrats on the bike and make sure you post pics once you've taken delivery!
Hey Coaster - thanks for the welcome, nice bike, I like that exhaust and might try that a couple years down the road.
Will definitely post some photos when I get the bike.
Jip Im running the one's strait out of the SE book for off road as they say, and I still think they are pretty quiet Im planning on trying a set of Samson slip-on's fish tail's from what I hear they have a bit more bark to them. I think youre realy going to like the Classic its a great bike. Good luck.
Thanks JB - I guess I'm going to have to get out there and hear some exhausts before I do anything.
I definitely want some bark but also don't want to **** the neighbours of too much.
Hey, I like the way those bags sit, are they the older heritage springer bags or is your bike lowered or both?
The bag's are for the 03 Heritage Springer. when I ordered the Classic I ordered the 03 Heritage bags at the same time its a straite bolt on and I think the look of the bags fit the style of the bike, and no I havn't lowered it
Hey I'm brand new to the forum, but I wanted to get a pic of mine on. I don't have many pics of her on this computer(I'm at work) but I found one of me and grandson. I'll maybe post more later. It's a 95th Anniverary Heritage Springer. I love it, but I've been seriously been kicking around the idea of some apes!
