Sounds about right, but really, unless you ride your motorcycle on the beach in the saltwater, you should be fine.
So, to the OP, did you ever move to SC? I moved to the N Myrtle Beach area in March '17. Love it here. Better weather, lower taxes and a good bike community. I'm actually in Longs SC, but no one probably heard of that, I'm less than 10 minutes from N Myrtle.
Wax is fine for all the areas you can easily reach, but WD-40 for everything else that can rust. When it gets dirty, wash and re-apply. Just takes a few minutes longer.

Its funny I found this post. Im considering moving from Pennsylvania to Charleston area. Whats life like here, wife and I are early 50's and are going to find jobs here. Coming down for a week to look at houses and job interviews.
Whats the good and any bad for the area?

How's that go? great minds and all that. OL and I will be visiting in a few weeks to scope out neighborhoods in and around Charleston. James Island, West Ashley, Mt Pleasant and maybe Johns Island. Citi-Data has some good info but I'm curious to hear what you guys have to say.
Regarding the "salt life" lol,at the top of this thread, coming up on Long Island near the ocean, regular wash and wax and spraying wd-40 as part for winterization keeps the rust away.
