Just wandering if any of you have heard or are participating in the Stage Coach ride-in this year. I know very little about it other than its a group of distance riders who gather at the Stage Coach rest/bar ? just north of Mobile, Al on 30 Dec every year. The Stage Coach 500 part comes in because you get your name on the plaque in the establishment if you document a 500 miile ride between midnight tonight and 0900 Friday morning. If anyone knows anything more about this I would like to here it.
Me and two riding buddies are taking off in the morning from Biloxi and doing the H-D shop tour. West to Slidell (North Shore H-D) north to Meridian MS, (forget the name of the H-D shop) and then south east over to Mobile (Mobile Bay H-D). With a few side shots visiting a few other friends it going to be just about 500 miles. A long day but we have no tight schedule so we're prepared to make a day & night of it if needed.
Anybody ever heard of this or have any more details? I just want to get my new glide (2005 -new to me) on the rode to feel her out. I hope to do some real touring in 2006 and this should help establish my comfort limits. By the way, one on these two riding buddies is trying to talk me into an ironbutt run when it warms up. Anybody out there doen one of those?
