Can anyone give me some advice on a decent motel in Myrtle Beach (preferably North MB) for spring bike week. We're looking at probably 4 to 5 rooms, and hopefully a decent rate.
I would recommend staying in Surfside on the south end of the beach. You can rent a large house from Surfside Realty cheaper than you can get a mediocre hotel. Most of the houses and condos are pretty nice. Stay away from Myrtle Beach Resort. You have to park a long way from your ride and it is a pain in the butt to get in and out. Surfside Realty has a web site. I think it is www.surfsiderealty.com. I have rented some very nice condos & houses there. The Days Inn in Surfside is also much nicer than your average Days Inn. They cater to bikers and you can park in covered parking. A lot of the activities are on the south end. Plus you can take some good rides to Georgetown and Charleston. Hope this helps.

The good news is MB still has under capacity when it comes to Bike Week. Therefore, there are options...I only stayed in N.MB once and have no knowledge of rental homes in this area.
As for hotels, rooms tend to be cheap as compared to other Bike Week locations.
Wish I could have provided more...Enjoy the Trip!!!
Let me know where you end up staying. We're going to be down there too and we were thinking about trying to get an HDForum Group together at some point.
Hey Crash, that would be great. We did the fall rally last year and had a bunch of fun. As time gets colser we'll work out the details and it would be great to meet as many HDF members as possible. I'm still working out the motel thing. The place we did stay at was torn down in order to build some new condos.

Beach would be great, but not absolute. Just somethig decent. Northern area because we normally end our nights at Broadway at the Beach. Makes the ride at the end of the night easier. We normally stay out until 2 or 3 in the morning. The place we did stay up got torn down and replaced with condos. (When I say Northern, I really mean the northern end of Myrtle Beach. Not North Myrtle Beach itself.

Lynn,
As you know, there are a large number of hotels next to BWAB...Hampton. Holiday Inn Express, Courtyard and many others...While I can not share potential openings, now is the time...
I normally stay South towards SBB...however stay North on business on occasion.
Well, Im booked for MB, just wish we were leaving today. I hope the spring rally is as fun as the fall rally was last year. There seems to still be plenty of rooms available, but a couple of places I checked say that reservations are coming in now. Hurry up Spring!!
