I rolled out of my buddy's garage about 12:30 in Holly springs. Felt good I haven't been out in I don't know a month and half or so. Found 27 somewhere around Cambell University. Tried to head East but I couldn't remeber exactly what roads I saw on Mapquest the night before. Found myself on 55 east at some some point which was funny becasuse that's what I started on. Rolled through Dunn, Newton Grove Moint Olive. Never did find salt water (that was the loose plan). Rolled north on 11 to Greenville got stuck in traffic near ECU. Rolled 264 straight home to Raleigh because it was getting late. Got a little chilly as the sun went down.
Regrets of the day - not stopping on 27 at some place called Red's Barn or something like that which boasted real good "country cookin'" and rolled by a bar on 55 probably somewere around Seven Springs that had a sign that said "BikerFriendly"and looked like it coulda used the biz but both times the timimng was'nt right (should made the time).
Best part of the day - The whole ride was good of course but it wasn't until the ride home on the highway as the sun set the highway turned and put the sun on my (cold) face and my soul downshifted about 2 gears and the BS from work just washed away which was all I was looking for. Ahhhhh.......yes.....
We're up, just not moving too fast. Want to wait till it warms up a bit. Any suggestings on where to ride? I've run out of ideas or just can't think straight this morning. Let's here them. Scott, Richard, anyone?
I'm in a holding pattern due to other people right now.
All of my rides are east of me.
If I can come maybe we could meet at Pat Rogers and hit the back roads for a bit?
As long as I'm riding today it doesn't matter to me what direction. Greg we could meet at Carolina HD and head over to Pat Rogers to meet Snort if he can make. Either way we could head east? What time do you want to meet? 10:30-11 ish?
We had about 15 bikes head south down to MB for lunch, over to Jammin Leather and back by the Swingbridge Saloon! Got about 200 + miles in yesterday! And its already lookin great for today too! Everybody ride safe!
Sounds like a plan. I will try and get Sonja to moving. Instead of going all the way to Gastonia how about we meet somewhere over your way and take the back roads over to Pat Rogers?
My son has homework to do andwe can't leave until it's done so ya'll just post up what, where, and when and if we can come I'll call Yoman.
Don't plan around me because he has a pretty good bit to do, maybe an hour's worth or more.
Yoman, sounds good. Do you want to meet near the Northlake mall area. There is a Panera Bread in Northlake Commons (right before you get to the mall). It is behind PF Changs and Jared. Want to meet there?
