On April 5, 2008 there will be an event in Hillsborough, NC from 10am till 2pm at the Walmart called - "Real Men Rock!" It's an event to provide education and awareness about Shaken Baby. Every year way too many babies die or suffer permanent brain damage as a result of being shaken! One of my nephews was a victim of Shaken Baby.He nearly died! I am helping to coordinate the event and we would really appreciate any of you big hearted bikers that could show up and demonstrate that "Real Men Rock!" All you have to do is rock a real baby or a life like doll for a few minutes. Or if you don't want to actually rock a baby, just hang out for awhile with us. A Greensboro country radio station, 93.1 The Wolf, will be there to help us promote the event, too! I think it would be cool to have a bunch of bikes parked around our exhibit! That would really draw attention to the event! Thanks to all who can help us out. If you want more info, send me an email or PM and I'll give you my phone number.
It's starting to warm up so we'd love to do another ride with you guys! And it would be great if you could join us for the Real Men Rock Event, too! Spread the word! I'd love to fill the parking lot with Harleys!
Thanks! I knew I could count on you guys!I know April seems a long ways off but it's only 8 weeks till the event and we're trying to get the word out early in hopes that we'll have a good turn out!
And just so it's clear, this is not a fund raising event! It's for Child Abuse Prevention!
I should have a flyer to share in the next week or so.
Another local agency that works to prevent child abuse wants to join us in this event and we are meeting to work out the specifics. We mayask volunteers to read the names of all the children in NC who died as a result of child abuse or neglect in the past year. Sad to say, it's a list that's way too long!
