Well over a year ago I heard that the Barber museum wanted Dale to move his collection to Alabama. Heard he could almost name his price. But it's been quite some time since that rumor was floating around, haven't heard anything recently. It would be a great loss for this area to lose the WTT museum.
Holy crap.... I go there at least 2 times a year. You gotta be kinding me. Last time I was there Dale talked to the wife, myself and a couple with us. Even started up one of his latest finds. Man....
It's my understanding that Dale will most likely take the attraction to Vegas, it is also been said that there will be an auction of "select" items prior to the move.
City Council is most of the problem, IMO they have other ideas for the prime piece of creek side real estate!
Most local support tends more towards the "more upstanding" casino crowd that is a constant on the other side of the mountain, Harrah's is just far enough to keep things fairly quite around th valley yet close enough for patron to stay in the valley and travel over to the tables.
I will still go to the area in general but just won't patronize the valley itself. As far as Iam concerned the council is making a huge mistake. Dale and his folks do a great service to that area and it is a shame they are more or lessrunning him off.
DUDE,
WE JUST RESERVED FOR THE BIKE RALLY WEEKEND THIS MONTH AND I READ THAT IT WOULD BE THE LAST TIME TO SEE IT. BEEN TO THE VALLEY ONCE, BUT NOT TO THE MUSEUM. WE'LL CHECK IT OUT THIS TIME BEFORE IT LEAVES.
