I am headed to Lexington, VAthis week to visit W&L,VMI,Jackson's house, etc. I will only be staying one night (mid-week). Does anyone have any suggestions on places to stay, eat, drink, more drink. I am looking for places real close together so I can have a few and not ride the bike. Also, how biker friendly is the area?? Any info would be much appreciated. Thank you.
We stayed here, newer place & good rates. Stop at the gas station beside it & get the 20% off coupon out of the back of coupon book. There is a Applebee's right next door, inbetween the hotel & quick stop. This is right off of the interstate. We rolled out of the hotel & took Rt.39 west to Goshen Pass.....incredible riding !!!
Thanks for the reply! I was already on the road when you responded. I had a great ride. I took RT 11 and enjoyed the mix of highway speed with the small town speeds. I visited VMI,W&L, Jackson's house, and his grave. I then took RT 501 from Lexington to Lynchburg. 501 certainly had some twisties. I ended up staying at the Holiday Inn Express in Lynchburg. It was a very nice place. The next day I rode to Appomattox Courthouse and toured that site. Very nice. I returned by taking 460 to 60 to 15. The ride was very relaxing and the weather was excellent.
By the way, I did stop by Crank's and Tuckahoe's yesterday. I do not believe I met you (I had alot of beer last night after I left there), but I do recall seeing your bike. Awesome bike! Take care.
Sorry I was late seeing this post. The Pink Cadillac on 501/11 near Natural bridge is a great lil place to eat and is biker friendly. Glad you enjoyed the ride...I live about 30 miles south of Lynchburg and ride that area often
