Don't know if this is the right forum. Buddies and I were on a week-long trip last week thru from Michigan, Ohio, WV, Virginia, Tenn, Ky, back to Michigan. Had just stopped at the Shady Valley store on US421. Went thru Bristol, on the way to Gate City. At the intersection of US421/US58 and US23, we were surprised by a stop sign that wasn't visible until the last minute. One of us went down, locked up the back wheel and sort of highsided. He ended up with a nasty bruise on his hip, tweaked his ankle and toes, but his leather pants, leather coat, and helmet all kept him from a really bad time. He's walking without crutches now, and the bike isn't that bad.

This is a new intersection, and is very poorly marked.

I am trying to contact the VA DOT to see about getting a "stop ahead" sign put up. If you are in this vicinity, beware.
