I rode hwy 11 from spartanburg to greenville, then south through greenville. Gorgeous scenery. Takes you past Table Rock State park. I've wanted to do it again on my WG but haven't had the time. Hwy 11 will take you all the way down near Augusta @ I-20. I highly suggest the ride.

Check out York, Chester and Cherokee Counties. King's mountain is a nice ride and they are all around Charlotte and are nice rural areas. You can use the back roads and never hit the interstates.

Completely agree. 11 dead ends into 276 if I remember right. Take that north and you will love the ride. Gets you up into Brevard, NC and then you can take 64 back east to Bat Cave and Chimney Rock, past Lake Lure and onto 74 which will run you back to Charlotte. It's an awesome trip. I did it from Catawba County and it was around 300 miles. If you want to make a stay of it, there is an awesome campground on 11 just a few miles before it hits 276. We stayed there last fall and it was incredible. Can't remember the name, but it was a county run place - not a state park. Cost almost nothing to pitch a tent and the facilities were great. On the right, just before 276.
