Hey y'all... It dosent look like there will be a poker run benefit as mentioned earlier in this thread. I was told thay wont be able to pull it off and just gave up on the project. I offered to help but it didnt fly. It "was" a good idea. And not only that but both of us got laid off last friday. Gotta love it...
Thats sad to hear about but thanks for keeping us posted......
Yeah, Tim Lucas owns Harley Haven and Gene Preston owns Thunder Tower. TT is 1K over msrp on all their bikes, but you can easily get them down on their price. I bought my SG there last year. TT is great, it's family run and they are more active within the community than HH is. Their service department is also top notch.
Anyways, there is a Combat Vets MA Benefit today at Jack's Custom Cycles - here's the FB link. Anyone going?? I'll be there taking photos for Carolina Chrome Magazine.
Ill be on a memorial ride I think it is. Starts at Bobbys Bar. 11am-4pm. Well see how the weather holds.
I believe it is a memorial run or a charity to raise money for someone. Not sure.
Either way still get to ride.
I have been to TT and HH. HH is better as far as sales. I have been there only once or twice.( only bc If I needed something TT is right here) Once I walked in and looked at bikes I was greeted and helped. Doesnt happen at TT. TT clothing, parts, and service seems good though. I just will never buy a bike from them. Seem stuck up and way overpriced.
I looked into opening a dealership(or what It takes too). Have to have at least $2million and $1million in liquid assets. So Gene and Tim and fairly rich prior to opening dealer. I have heard Tim is a jackass. But my buddy had issues with HH. Asked him if he was buying or just looking and kept giving him a hard time.
68degF@10AM calling for 78degF by 1PM. No rain. Even though weather is not perfect I am going to attempt the 45 mile journey to Santee from Columbia for lunch at Lone Starr BBQ.
Directions if anyone wants to meet me there: East on Hwy#6. Left on State Park Rd. about .5 miles before you get into Santee. Then .5 miles on the left heading towards the SP. I will be taking the back roads through Fort Motte and Low Falls landing, coming in through the Park.
I will top off the tank at the Pilot on Hwy#321 at about 10:30, and will be at LS BBQ about 11:30 give or take a few minutes.
All all welcome to join me for the ride or meet me there for lunch.
Enjoy the ride in the Carolinas, guys. But if you're in Durham, Smithfield, or Goldsboro NC, be sure to assign one rider to stay outside and keep an eye on the bikes...
