That's a shame. At least the "season" is over. I don't see many bikes out this time of year. Hell, the ride to work yesterday morning made me consider putting mine away (or wearing a helmet) well, almost lol!
well seeing as how i sold my jeep this past weekend my only mode of transport is now my superglide or my bicycle. so i will ride even if the "season" says its gone.
+1 on the help, Classic Eagle. Hate to see you down just when all the good rides are coming up. ie. Vets ride and the toys for tots rides.
I'm with BftXJ about riding year round. I chose not to buy another truck - so the SG is my only mode of transportation unless I take the wife to work and take the car. Doesn't happen often. Full face and heated grips are the best right now. Curious to see how the grips do in the really cold weather come January. I just installed them earlier last month.
I ride all year, too. I don't have heated gear, but I do have a nice set of coveralls my wife got me the year before last. I rode in them as low as 16* last winter. I don't think heated gear is at all necessary here. It doesn't get that cold.
These will help the heated grips and gloves keep your hands warm. If I lost my Gerbings jacket liner and gloves I would replace them imediately.
My riding season is from January to December. I missed about 6 days or so this year due to snow and ice on the road. The backroads I ride to work had a lot of shade and the snow would refreeze every night so it took a week to melt enough before it was safe to ride in in the morning.
Having the right gear makes cold weather riding comfortable. I have had heated grips and hanguards on my BMW's for years. They let me wear unlined gloves down to the mid 30 degree temps.
