The temperature hit the mid '60s here today and it was great to get out on the bike. Just got a new Garmin Zumo GPS and the thing is amazing. Can't wait to try it out on a long trip. Ride safe! !
Went ridin' up to WhiteOak Mtn Saturday. Now that the leaves are gone you can really see the lower half of the Falls. Took the truck Sunday and came down Skyuka rd. That will be a great one when they get it paved. Might ride some Thurs, if your'e not working call me.
Terry, I'm already a member of the Zumo forum and yes, I've already gotten some good information from some nice people there. I am completely new to the world of GPS and I've wanted one for a long time. I waited until I could get what I thought would be the best for a motorcycle. So far all I've done is mount it to my Ultra and gone for a couple of rides. The thing is amazing. Right now I'm trying to decide which way I want to get power to it from the bike. Everyone seems to have there own idea of the best way. What's your idea? I want to do all the Bluetooth stuff with the headset also and don't have a clue as to how to wire it. I'm currently using the Harley headset which came with the bike. Thanks for any suggestions which you might give me. It was a great riding day today.
I'm still undecided about powering direct from bike battery or thru the ignition switch, presently the later. Only takes a moment to acknowledge switching to Zumo battery power but I can easily change it if I decide to. Suggestions for an Ultra I don't have, I rigged up my whole system. Speakers, GPS, Autocom but am very pleased with the setup. Planning a trip to NC and then to NM,CO,UT and AZ in late May. Enjoy and say hello if you see me on the Zumo forum.
Will definitely say hello if I see you on the Zumo forum. Unfortunately, I'm not well versed in hooking stuff up so I'm probably going to have to have someone do it for me. I just can't decide which is the best way to go. I was able to successfully install the handlebar mount on the bike. That, in itself, is an accomplishment for me. Normally when I undertake something more complicated than that it results in a large hangover the next morning from drinking out of frustration. I do want to get all the Bluetooth stuff working through the helmet headset. I've learned that patience is very rewarding. It will come. See 'ya.
You working tomorrow, or are you playing hooky and
riding all day like me!!!
I got a friend up from Floridaso Marcia and I are taking
him SC./NC. mountain riding tomorrow! So if your playing
hooky from work let me know my friend"
PS: it will probably be a short day, only about 600 miles!
