2 freakin weeks to get a part in? Sounds like they placed the order then never followed up on it.
I know your bikes under warranty bro, but unless you opted for free service ya might consider the bike shop that's a couple of miles from your house. Texas Custom Choppers. I doubt they can do warranty work, but they can do service. I just had them put a set of tires on my bike. It wasnt a screamin deal but they had me in and out in about 3 hours. Another place is Hog Alley up in Georgetown. They have a great rep.
Not really a horror story with CTHD but when I had my 06 FLHTCI I took it in for the recall on the ignition fork lock when they finally got some in. Picked it up after work and when I got home wife said service department had called and wanted me to call them. Turns out mechanic took the original lock out and had it laying on bench with new one and then put the original one back in. After talking to Frank(service) he was going to send truck to pick up bike. I live about 72 miles from CTHD. Told him no I would just ride it to work one day and leave it there for them to put the new one in again. Mistakes happen but. Hog Alley does good work had them put a set of tires on the 06 and do 10000 mile checkup. They know Harleys. Bought the 07 over at Gruenes HD in New Braunfields they were much better to deal with than CTHD. You have to watch CTHD cause they try to add lots of $$$ to things. Me I am done with em. Since they bought it from Buddy when he was down on Lamar it ain't the same place.
I have nothing bad to say about CTHD, Yet! They serviced my last Harley for about a year and everyone in sales, parts, clothing and service have been friendly and compitent. I just bought an 08 Heritage from them last month and so far, so good. Keeping my fingers crossed.
