Default AZ Bike Week

Hello all,

I'm new to the HD scene, but wanted to know about AZ Bike Week. I've been on their website, just lookin for info from people that have been there and will be again this year. I'm from Chandler but currently serving in the Army in Northern Iraq. I'll be home around the 15th of Mar to pick up the 09 Fatboy that I have ordered. Anyone running V & H Big Radius pipes? I'm curious as to how they sound. I look forward to meeting riders when I get home. Peace

Welcome Mossy Oak and congratulations on the new ride. I am in Baghdad working in the CIVPOL program and just got back from time off and picked up my 09 RKC that I got through the the exchange new car program. You be careful up there, maybe I will see you at bike week. If you don't make bike week keep an eye on the Southwest section there are rides posted almost every week. I got to ride with the group while I was home and they are a great bunch of folks.

Awesome, thank you. This is my second time ordering through ENCS, I cancelled the last one because they were jerkin me around. I'm in hopes that everything goes smoothly this time. I leave early next month and the wait is killing me. My brother is getting a RKC in about a week. The jerk knew he would get it before I would be able to get mine. If the bike is there waiting on me, you can bet I will be at Bike Week. I will only be in AZ on leave and then it's off to my new assignment in VA. I'll keep in touch with you.

Az Bike Week is pretty spread out all over the valley. All of the dealers in the area have events with bands, as well as a number of the bars.

There is one location at Westworld where the vendors are set up (admission charged) and outside the vendor area is where the demo rides are.

My brother has the Big Radius pipes on his Deuce. V&H states they are their loudest pipes and I believe it, they do sound good though.

Welcome MossyOak. Congrats on your new bike. We went to bike week last year, had a good time and plan on going back again this year. I have on 08 Fatboy with the V&H BSS. Love the sound and looks. Wish I could tell you about the Big Radius sound. They do look great on Fatboys in fact almost went with them. Let us know when you get back. Stay safe,
Mondo

Thanks for the info. I am going through Hacienda to have my bike delivered and the Chrome guy there recommended the Big Radius. I was told by several guys here that ride that the stock pipes make the bike sound like a sewing machine and I can't be riding around sounding like a schmuck. I was reading the posts from the New Years ride that ya'll put on, sounds like it was a great time. I will be back in AZ from mid March to mid April and will do all the riding I can before I PCS to VA. I'll also be back around June for another 30 days leave. I look forward to meeting fellow riders out there and partying my butt off at Bike Week. It's been a long 15 months.

Thanks for your service!

BikeWeek is/can be alot of fun. I don't think we made it last year (my wife and I), but have been going off and on since 2001. It really depends on what part of the week you are looking for. The biggest parties really are on the first weekend (the Hacienda kick off in particular is usually the biggest one). I personally enjoy the parties more for bike week than the rides, but I've kindof veered away from larger group rides after watching some stupid stuff done (and the most recent toy run had several accidents).

Well, I will have my gf with me and we both like to party and have a good time. I have been talking to the guy at Hacienda that has been helping me with my order and he says that have a pretty good event there to kick things off. I will be back after 15 months of no partying, so I plan on doing it up right. You're most welcome and thank you for the support.

Hey, nice to meet you , and thanks for your service... you be careful out there.

I am Joe.1955's wife. Last year we checked out one of the parties, (Buddy Stubbs), but we are usually more interested in riding. We hung around for a while and checked out the scene, and then we went for a ride, and came back to the party later.

I don't want to be the Mom here... (although I kind of am just that)... but if you are plan on doing big partying...maybe plan to park the bike and have a designated driver. It would be a shame to survive Iraq only to screw up on a bike after a party!!

Other than that one party/ride.. Joe and I checked out the vendor area for one good long day, and Joe went several days before work. (He works evenings.)

Neither one of us likes to do the big, organized rides for the reasons Cryptoboy mentioned. We'll probably put together our own ride around that time, and you are always welcome to join us.

Look forward to meeting you in March. And, Jake... hopefully we'll be seeing you then, too, if not sooner!!
