I will be heading to Sedona April 19-22. I have been thru once only a few hours though. Looking for places to ride eat sleep. Maybe places not to go. Looks like a lot of stuff to see really looking for don't miss places.
Hard to answer. Sedona is small and touristy so no place is off limits and it's easy to see it all if you're there for 4 days. Sedona doesn't take a lot of planning.
I suggest a side trip to Prescott through Jerome. A great ride taking 89A about 65-70 mile, Take a day to do this as there are many places to stop and some great places for photos.
Head up through Oak Creek Canyon... just don't do it on a weekend, with campers and tourists it'll be incredibly crowded and you'll just get stuck in traffic.
Best scenic overlooks would be Airport Rd. and Schnebly Hill Rd.
Airport Rd. starts getting crowded an hour before sunset, but the best view is Schnebly Hill Rd. looking back over Sedona. It's blacktop all the way to the park and if you turn left into the park/hiking area there's plenty of parking.
If you're RVing there's a great RV park that backs up to Oak Creek right off of Schnebly Hill Rd. at Bear Wallow Ln.
One year we did the Jeep tour, I highly recommend that so you (driver/rider) can look at the scenery for a change.
Sorry I can't remember the name of the park or the RV park.
