there's a group of use heading up from Friendswood. I think the deal with Nebraska is there is nothing out there to look at, it's kinda like driving through a 400mile corn field. Ok if you like corn.

Yeah, my brother-in-law and I are riding up from Gonzales, Louisiana Saturday morning (Aug 7). Hopefully, we'll get there by Monday afternoon. We wanted to leave earlier but it just wasn't going to happen. We're going on to Idaho from there.

easy enough to spot us. We're two middle-aged guys slightly overweight, wearing t-shirts and riding black Harleys loaded down with tents and sleeping bags.

I was on sturgis.com and there was a guy from Houma who was leaving on the 4th too. You might check those message boards.

I can't leave until Saturday, the 7th and yes, 5-600 miles is enough for one day.

I can understand avoiding Dallas, because I'll be doing the same. I-10 to Tyler, cut north thru Greenville and head on to Ardmore for the first night. I'm puzzled about Nebraska. Some good roads there and some very interesting places up around Scottsbluff, Nebraska.
