2014 1/2 XL1200T, so much happier now than when I had the Vrod, just all around a better bike for my taste. Just incredible really how she handles the road.
Congratulations on the new scoot. My Sportster sees way more miles per year than my Road King. I just love 'em.
Vrod? gag spew wretch.. Not a fan in ANY way.
I had just bought the Vrod, but only a month into ownership did I really just not like the "Constantly on the Prowl, bent over clamshell ergonomics" of the bike. Incredible engine, lots of power everywhere but i'm 44 and not 30 and so really do not like the way she took off the line, was a little sensitive. The Sportster though, WOW, I mean WOW as far as smoothness of the line, the way she settles in on the highway is just fantastic.
Hang on to that puppy! It's a quick scoot that will sling shot you to where ever it is pointed! I wish I had kept mine instead of trading it.
Anyway, congrats on a great ride. Its ready to travel yet easy to ride. Let us know how the ride quality is now that they have the adjustable ****. My Sportster road like crap and that was the only flaw it had.
You will also find that doing your own services (oil changes) are easy pezy !!
Plus women love Sportsters so be prepared for lot's of leg. The secret to men owning them is they know women are attracted to the smaller size and want to know more about them when you show up!
Enjoy and ride often, but ride safe!
Congratulations! You are going to love it.
Since I bought my 48 I have barely used my Road King. The Sportster just rides great, plenty of power and handles great particularly around town. I do miss the bags and windshield. I see your bike has both.
