crawrj, this will make you feel better. Picture a brand new 100" S&S engine sitting on a stand on top of a work bench. Picture me going over to the work bench, stepping up on a 8" step to get leverage, picking up the engine, stepping down that 8" and back back back back I go , triping over my sons riding car right to the ground, the engine bounces off my chest on to the garage floor.
Does anybody know what a V twin engine sounds like bouncing and rolling around on a cement floor? I'll never forget it that sound....

Ok so I went ahead and sanded it down to where it was smooth but still had a thin layer of JB over the crack. I didn't touch the outside as I didn't feel that was necessary. I figured it would make it more secure if I left it on the out. Cleaned it all up and finished the install. Took it out for a 30 minute test ride and so far all is well. I know I won't really know anything until some more time passes but hopefully this will last long enough until I am ready to get the new TB. I think I will do it whenever I replace my bars since I'll be replacing the idle cables anyway. So hopefully it will last however long that is.
