I have an 03 1200xlh. Recently purchased the jet kit from Sorgy's since I have the Scream'n Eagle AC andScream'n Eagle IIpipes with the baffles out. Sorgy's sent me a 45 and 175. Went to install and found previous owner already put 45 and 160.
Problem is the 175 jet from Sorgy's is a larger diameter than the one installed and does not fit in the emulsion tube. Sorgy's said it's because the previous owner put a jet kit already and changed the emulsion tube. Went to HD thinking it was dynojet, turns out the dynojet is the same diameter as Sorgy's jet.
Any idea who's kit uses a smaller diameter jet? I would like to change the 160 to 175 to improve the top end since I took the baffles out and to help with the carb farts.
I have the same set up your looking for. 45pilot and 175 main SE air kit and drilled baffles. The carb farts arevery rare, maybe once every 25timesicrack the throttle at idle. You can pick up an emulsion tube and a 175 main from the dynojet website. I have a factory emulsion tube that you can have if you want, but i don't have a 175. I do have a 170 and a 180 left over from my jet kit. Let me know if you want them. You Can send me a PM. Paul
I bought a S0rgy's jet kit totally ignorant of any of this business. Im going from stock to 185/45. Sooner or later I'll get around to the air cleaner and pipes. But for now, what the hell does that mean?
So has anybody heard of the emulsion tube taking a smaller diameter jet than the dynojet jets?
Hey Txbikerboy,
I sent you the Emulsion tube and the main jets, should get them in a couple of days!
I also figured out your problem, when i was packing the stuff for you i noticed that the main jets from the dynojet kit were smaller in diameter than the factory main jet. If you have the 175 from sorgys, then that will work with the stock emulsion tube i sent you. Maybe the sorgys kit is ment to work with the stock tube. The dynojet emulsion tube has a smaller diameter opening to receive the main jet. I sent you the stock emulsion tube, the stock 170 jet, and a dynojet 180 main that you can use with the tube thats on your carb now. So if the 175 isn't enough then you can install the tube you have with the 180 main jet. Good luck and let me know how thing s go. Paul
Ok, so I have now confirmed that the dynojet jets are a smaller diameter. I put the 180 jet that wasdonated to me inand there is a difference in the acceleration in the top end. So, for those of you who have a dynojet kit on your bike, you can only use dynojet jets, not the ones most dealers carry for stock applications.
