what's up ...can you guys tell me what exactly does the stealer do for the 5000 mile service?? is it just an oil change ?and is it really needed?any info would be great!!!
p.s. for that dipshit troll, when I came back from Iraq after my 2nd tour of duty , I could have bought any bike I wanted for cash money!!...I chose a sporty because thereare so many directions you could go with customizing it..and they get up and go off the line jack a$$...
Hey man, good to hear from you again!! There isn't much more than fluid changes involved in the 5,000 mile service. Just general check of "critical fasteners" etc. Also should change the tranny fluid. It is MOST certainly needed, but not at the steeler. Ride down to Nashville, and we can have a few cold ones and do the service quicker than a dealer will get ya out.
Ah, in that case, it might take a bit longer than you could go to the steeler. Not to mention, you'd almost be ready for the 10,000 mile service by the time you got home. LOL
Buy the service manual and do the 5k service yourself.
Checking fastener torques, primary chain adjustment, clutch adjustment, throttle cable adjust and lube, belt tight...and the fluid change. A few other things, but nothing an avg person that can change oil/filter can't do.
The first time might be a lil more expensive if you don't have the tools, etc that you will need. Buy them once, and then you'll always have them.
