Alright fellas, the old girl won't start. Now here is the interesting part, I put the battery on the charger and I tells me it's charged yet when I connect it back To the bike, it so t even turn the lights on. However, I I connect the battery charger straight to the battery cables everything turns on. I've tested th battery on two different chargers an they both claim it's good. Any ideas?
Bad cell. How many volts is the battery showing?
Recently had a 14 Custom show good on the charger but would not start. Replaced the battery and now its cranking fine.
Thanks fellas. Battery is about 9 months old I don't have a multimeter to test what it's at so I'm gonna make a wild guess and says it's not enough ha ha.
thanks guys i took it back to advance (yeah i know im probably an outcast for not spending money on an hd battery) they tested it and it had basically no CCA. i will be putting the new one in sometime this week when i get a chance.
I couldn't find a sealed battery at Advance that would fit. The sealed type batteries at Advance and several other places only had a 3 month warranty.
NAPA and Oreilly both have sealed batteries that fit with one year warranties for about $95.
The HD battery is only $127 and I think it has a one year warranty.
I just paid up. For the hd battery. I didn't feel like playing the battery game out on a cross country ride or in the oddball parts of the south. I bought a yusa but yhe connections looked screwy so i opted not to install it.
I had jard starting and my battery was 7 years old so i chucked it on my last long ride to Maryland. No more issues. Sprayed terminal coating (red stuff) on my connections. (I hear you all gasping)
