Except for the price. Cyron appears to be more reasonably priced. Thanks for sharing Layzie. Did not know there were any other non-ballasted LEDs that fit the small 5 3/4" headlight casing.
Several installation pictures are available on the Fuel Moto site. Type LED in the search box as the drop down doesn't list lighting. Looks like a cool way to upgrade.
Don't know enough about them to wade through the options. Some come with multiple adapters and reflectors and some are just the bulbs.
It sounds like they are very directional and won't go into a stock housing without causing some problems. Outside of the light being very directional I have to wonder where the heat is going if you just fasten it up in a metal housing.
I put one in my 1200C in August14'. Like it so much that I got one for my 2006UCEG. I've contacted the company and they say in the first quarter this year they will also have the "spots" for my 06' as well.
This light rocks! Easy to install and is very clean and bright.
There are a few options of similar style, but a lot are too long and won't fit in the factory bucket. The Cyron and Pathfinder are designed to fit in the bucket with out the need of an external ballast. Unlike HIDs, LEDs powerful enough for headlights generally come with a cooling fan. This set up has the ballast and cooling fan built on the back and slim enough to fit inside both 5 3/4 and 7'' buckets, plus the vents are on the side and not the back so it won't suffocate the fan. Also this kit uses 3 LEDs over 2. The top 2 are for low beam and the bottom is for high beam. Using the direction of the bowl like halogen, aiming the 2 leds up to give at least some cut off to not blind oncoming traffic. There still is glare from the light being a lot brighter. Less glare than HIDs but more than halogen. I searched for awhile, and took a shot on this one. Cant speak for other kits. They all seem to range around 70-85 for the same kits with different names. Cyron seem to be the only one with a dedicated website and slightly cheaper than pathfinder, which is probably made by the same company making the Cyron, or possibly even Cyron making them.
I read that when I was first buying the kit, after installing it found the 2 top leds are lit on low and the 3rd led on the bottom lights when you click the high beam.
These leds at 6k give a more white than hids at 6k. I'm personally not a fan of anything over 4300 so I was skeptical but after installing them I do like the color.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but the Kelvin scale has no differentiation. 6k is 6k, which means one of them is not 6k. I love the idea.
