Default Sissy Bar Compatability

I've read that sissy bars for Dynas and Sportsters are interchangeable, but before I spend time meeting a guy to look at one, can anyone help me out?

It's from a 2006 Dyna and I have a 2009 Nightster. It appears to be quick release because there are some latches on the rear mounting holes.

I don't know about your 2009, but that wouldn't fit my 2014. It needs a cutout to go around the rear turn signals on mine like here:

The actual sissy bar component is interchangeable between some Dynas and Sportsters, but the side plates are not.
