Got it home yesterday, my 2009 xl1200 low. First bike, and i can already tell im going to need lots of practice before i feel real comfortable. Im taking a riders class in april. I just didnt want to play the trade in/upgrade game. Should be a really fun time once i get a little more experience. Any advice?
Congrats on the new-to-you bike. She looks beautiful! Check the throttle thumb screw for sticky throttle. You can adjust the throttle response using this. This is the tiny screw underneath the base of throttle. Hold throttle grip with and open thumb and you should touch it.

Thanks ill look at that tomorrow. Its gonna be long month (if i follow the rules)
Leave the throttle screw a little tight so the throttle doesn't spin too freely. Rotating the throttle too fast can get a new rider in trouble. Better to have some resistance until you get more experience riding.

I was thinkin earlier its kind of nice, almost like cruise control. But if the **** hit the fan i wouldnt want that to be what im thinking about. Should roll off when i let go at least.
