damn, sorry that happened. i have a similar dent in my tank
i agree with those who posted above, get a new triple tree first and then worry about the cosmetic things later. you might want to spray the dent with rustoleum or something so it doesn't start to rust while you are waiting to repair it
i ride without a front fender, only down side is splashing in puddles.
I live in NYC, knocking my bike over is way to common. The day I see it in action will be the day I take out all the knock overs, I already feel bad for that person..
What makes things worse is this is my only form of transportation. It's not like I can hop in my cage and drive around. I've been trying to pay for this bike for 3 yrs now and this all sets me back that much further.
I'd be more than happy to hear any ideas on repairs or any other suggestions. Thanks guys in advance!
You should file a police report, then if you see someones car with your matching paint.
Bring it to the cop's attention.
Might also check local moto salvage.
Yeah I test rode it the second I got the fender off. Rode no hands alot bike ran true no wobble no veering to one side. Just the stopper on the triple tree lower was snapped off and the tank dented I haven't seen any other cracks in the triple tree so I think it would be good.
You do have a high deductible, but I would take it to a dealer and have them go through it completely. You could have some other damage that you cant see right now. At any dealer you are looking at a lot more out of pocket expense for the repair and or parts than your deductible. I would have them take a close look at the neck. I'm sure they will be able to tell you whats best for you since they most likely deal with insurance claims frequently.
sorry about your luck, that really sucks, but if I were you I would run it though the insurance when you can and get all that stuff fixed right. Also If I were you I would carry the $500 deductible, I believe the $500 deducible is only like an extra $30 a year..,, ESPECIALLY SINCE THIS IS YOUR ONLY TRANSPORTATION.. I don't know how you survive in Ontario with only a bike.. must be rough.
you should slap a $150 fork brace on there and then you won't have to worry about the cracked tree right now.
