Yea, it's pretty easily fixed, but I figured I would give them a chance first. It's a little deep for a burnishing pad, but I could blend it with a file and re-powdercoat it. If it were just about anyplace else I wouldn't worry about it, but it's in the top tree right in front of the fork tube. If it were behind the headlight or on the back side I would probably just color fill it with some alumablack and let if fade into oblivion.

I got an email from him this morning and next week when he gets the new ones from the powdercoater he's sending me a new one with a return ticket for the damaged one.

Looks like not much has changed with Joe Johns or Vulcan Works. The guy is a liar and/or a thief. Here is where everything stands right now.
I ordered a set of wide glide Sportster trees and they arrived with the upper tree damaged. I contacted them and rather than saying they would take care of it I was basically called a liar. On my second email I was told they would exchange it, but wouldn't have any in stock for a week and to send him(Joe Johns the owner) a reminder email. I sent the reminder and got no response, waited a couple of days and inquired. Sent one yesterday asking for a tracking number and no response. I'm going to call this afternoon. If I get no response I'll send the entire thing back and disputed the charge. I'm not concerned about his issues on why, I just know he has $450 of my money and I have parts that arrived damaged. He has kept my lift table tied up for two weeks now while I try get this resolved.

Got it back together but still need to button a couple things up. The wheel disk spacer in the Vulcan kit was the wrong one, it pushed the disk into the fork, but since the POS owner doesn't care about his business I know he's not going to make it right. Especially since he hasn't made the gouged tree he sent me right. All is not lost I just made some 9/16" spacers for the caliper and it works fine and IMO looks cleaner. Then I stripped one of my brass risers tightening it so I just ordered a helicoil kit. I wanted to helicoil them anyway because as much as I like them I've never liked that it's just threaded brass.
Here is a crappy cell pic, I'll take some better ones once I get it out in the light and run it.

I did have some fun with Joe Johns the owner of Vulcan on Thursday though. He stopped replying to emails and wouldn't answer the phone. I was driving back from Pigeon Forge and had nothing but time, I guess he couldn't stand that I wouldn't hang up. I don't know how many times it rang, but it was non-stop for seven miles so that has to be a couple hundred rings. He's just stringing me along with "next Friday" like he does everyone else. Hope he enjoys the ***** I ordered for him.

Alright, got it done today. Had to make a couple spacers for the brake caliper and picked up the bolts in town this morning. Got that taken care of and then UPS dropped off the Helicoil kit for the brass risers a day early. Got those take care of, the bars installed and test ride complete. Love it, tracks well, it's a little more sluggish in the turns than I anticipated, but it's a pretty fat front tire.
