Default ignition switch

I run an '04 XL1200R and when I parked it this evening I shut it off using the kill switch as usual, then turned off the ignition switch(I thought) and went inside. A few hours later I went out to the garage and before I turned on the lights noticed that the lights on the speedo and tach were on. Whe I checked I realized that I can remove the key without turning off the ignition switch all the way. I guess I'll have to be more careful in the future.

Has anyone else noticed this? Is the sportster supposed to be like this?

Thanks,

rmxlr

Default RE: ignition switch

Mine is the same, the key will come out in the accessorie position ant he speedo & tach lights stay on. I guess it's if you want to leave your radio on or something.
