I did not notice you have an 883 but I would still try the premium fuel with the problem you are experiencing. I have a 883/1200, special cams, a/c, exhaust and it gets premium fuel and oil. I have tried several a/c set ups and the only way I can get rid of crankcase breather puke is run a line overboard. Running oil low does little to nothing. We are only dealing with about 6 drops per thousand mi but 6 drops will make a lot of streaks

I agree 1/2 way between full and add on dipstick, will prevent motor oil overflow on right side. When oil is all the way up to full the motor oil must leak out through some sort of overflow?
