my 1000 mile service is due and i wanted to have samson street sweepers put on my bike but my dealer wont do it [:@] or will they put hooker troublemakers on dammit!! so i want to put vance and hines side shots on. any info on how good they are?

Your dealer wont do it????? Put them on yourself or go to a different dealer. I live in NY and I've never had a problem with loud pipes and I've never heard of anyone getting shyt from the cops for it either.

I don't know how strictly it is enforced (if enforced at all), but here are the exhaust requirements in New York;
Muffler
Muffler required; no straight pipes; no removal of baffles; no modification of exhaust system that increases noise beyond exhaust system originally installed. Ref: NYS Vehicle & Traffic Law, Article 9, Section 381
Maximum Sound Level
Maximum Allowable A-Weighted Sound Levels at Speed: 35 mph or less, 82 dB(A); over 35 mph, 86 dB(A), measured at, or adjusted to, a distance of fifty feet from the center of the lane in which the motorcycle is traveling. Ref: NYS Vehicle & Traffic Law, Article 10, Section 386.

We have no muffler criteria, no maximum sound criteria, no equipment checks, no inspections, no emission checks, nothing.
You send in your registration form each year, with payment and proof of at least liability insurance, and you are legal for another year.
Makes it a great place for those that want to 'hot rod' or modify cars, trucks, bikes, or lawn mowers. LoL...

Unfortunatly there are more politcians and people that work for the government in New York than there are citizens.So they write more and more laws and write as many tickets that they can to support there greedy ***'s. They set up road blocks just for bikes and will write you up for loud pipes.Also it wont pass inspection with strait pipes, but most of the inspectors are bikers and let you slide that is[sm=boosign.gif] until the government starts cracking down on them which will happen.
