It has a wire with a bolt. Nothing fancy. The Jekyll and Hyde pipe is built in Europe and has a valve that is adjusted electronically, but they run like $1200 or so here in the US. This one is just a manual adjustment but there are a couple of people who have made simple and cheap devices to adjust on the fly. Here is a video of one guy who made a switch using a choke switch then upgraded his design to electrical adjustment.
I was at a Harley swap meet last Sunday and they had a guy demonstrating the Jekyll & Hide setup, I really liked the electronic setup, on fly you can just push a button and it would sound like stock or louder, that would be great if you were getting pulled over. So I picked up a flyer and after getting home I went to their site to check on pricing $1710.86 for a 2013 48, to rich for my blood.

The website has a disclaimer that they are not legal for sale in CA on any 2013 or newer bikes unless it is for racing. Maybe you can tell them its for a race bike if you like the pipe and price.
