are arlen ness a/c compatible with s&s carbs?
i have a 01 1200 custom. i want to put an s&s carb and thinking of going with a arlen ness air cleaner just cant find if they are compatible or if theres adapters that i can install to make work. any info would help thanks.

Most aftermarket brands only make stuff to fit stock Harley stuff, not other aftermarket brands. Of course the challenge is to make such mixed up things work, if you are up to that! Of course there is only one filter that looks right on an S&S carb - theirs!

I was teasin', but S&S does have other styles of filter now. It may be possible to modify the one you mention, may even be worth contacting Arlen Ness direct, to see if they can offer any tips.
You "may" have to buy an S&S intake manifold also. The stock HD cv carb is slip on where as the S&S is bolt on. If you're going with S&S; get their air cleaners. It will make life a lot more easier and you won't bust a blood vessel like I did. I wanted to put on the Arlen Ness stage two air cleaner and had to return it to J&P cycles. If I would have known, I would have just bought the S&S kit, and not each individual piece.
