That's one of the few shields I've seen that actually looks good on a sportster.
Actually looks like it belongs there.
Very nice.

That's what I thought. Thanks for confirming.

And the seat? That looks aftermarket too.

The seat is actually an HD seat - the super reduced reach seat. I'm a short guy!

It's much better-looking than my seat!

Are you using a fuel management component?

Yes, the V&H FuelPak. My bike rides 100% better and different too! Much more low-end torque, deeper exhaust note (imagine a rumble rather than a thunder) and overall better performance. I keep installed behind my saddle bag (see above).

Excellent! I plan to do the air cleaner/exhaust/fuel management thing early next season. I won't go for the Short Shots, though. They're too loud for me.

I pulled the trigger and ordered my flyscreen. As promised it took about a week to show up and as somebody expressed earlier was impressively packaged and really easy to put on. I installed it in the parking garage of my office during lunch yesterday and it took 15 minutes, primarily because I had to ride the elevator back up to the 14th floor to get the right Allen wrench.
I went with the "Midnight" shade as I figured it would look best on my Iron.

I've had two 10 mile rides on it now, speeds up to 80 MPH and here are my thoughts.

Pros:
It looks gorgeous on my Iron

I'm 5'10" and find that it deflects the wind off my chest making speeds that were uncomfortable before really easy to deal with. In the past I found that 70MPH was about my comfort level because I was holding on for dear life to stay on the bike. 75 MPH with the flyscreen in place feels like 50 MPH, huge difference.

Cons:
As far as I can tell the flyscreen directs the wind to right about eye level on me. This caused a couple of issues, one it made my Oakley's vibrate and caused some visibility issues. At 70 MPH the wind repeatedly forced the face shield down on my helmet. Not a big deal but sort of annoying as I found I hadn't cleaned my face shield lately.

Wind Noise: As it projects the wind at my helmet I find the wind noise deafening, reminds me of when I was a Jumpmaster hanging out of an airplane kinda deafening. This can probably be fixed with the purchase of a full face helmet which is going to happen anyway before it gets cold.
A secondary effect of the wind noise is that I can no longer hear the motor as well as I used to making it more difficult to determine RPMs etc...

Speeding and gear selection: With the lack of wind on my chest letting me know how fast I'm going and the inability to hear the motor I'm going to have to pay a lot more attention to my speedometer and gear indicator.

Overall I think it's going to grow on me but right now I've got mixed feelings.

I went for the Midnight Black Dart screen for my 883R. Fitted it last week. I'm 5'8'' and its fine apart from the noise at high speeds but I dont mind that when I have less wind pressure on my chest.

I am in the UK and because they are a UK company it was delivered less than 24 hours after I ordered it!!

Thats the problem with windscreens on a motorcycle. Its either scramble your brains buffeting or increased noise. If you were to lay down like a crotch rocket on the tank the small windshields are perfect. The problem is us cruiser riders sit upright far from the shield in the noise zone. Other than cold weather and bug avoidance there is no advantage of having a shield under 65mph. I can ride for hours without a shield at speeds under 70 effortlessly. I just hate having to clean my face shield every 100 miles. I can't imagine riding behind a wind block like baggers do on temps above 80F. With windshields its not perfection its compromise.
