nightster backfiring stalling
2nd run of spring....I get gas for it (wife let it sit over winter with almost no gas). 10 minutes after I put gas in tank during 2nd run.....backfiring, sputtering, missing, etc. I barely made it home. Put new plugs in it, drained all gas, put new gas in (from different gas station) in it WITH fuel injector cleaner. Took it out....ran fine for 3 mins....then same thing happened. I had to push it back 1.5 miles to house.
Now...put new fuel filter in it. Same results....sputter, backfire, missing, stalls.
Any suggestions?
Note: This past winter....temps were at -26deg F. Not sure if that effected the bike. It ran great for first run with no signs of trouble.
Havent replaced Fuel Pressure Regulator or Fuel Pump Assembly.
Need help.
Try removing the main fuse and clean up the terminals. Then disconnect and clean cleaning up battery terminals and at the other end of both leads. The earth point on the frame on the left side looks a bit exposed, so that's deffo worth a clean up and use some dielectric grease when bolting back up.
Even if it isn't this, its still a good thing to do anyway and wont be wasted time.
