Have been riding the wife's 883xl standard with a lowering kit on the rear for the last 3 days. Been real hard to coordinate getting off at 5 and ridin 45 minutes to the stealer to get rush pipes on and get her fitted for new/closer bars. Finally got the bike back this evening. The mid pegs feel so strange after having gotten used to forwards.
Had to go to walgreens for scripts tonite and jumped at the chance toride on my custom for the 1st time since sunday. Man this bike feels 10 times more comfy now after ridin hers.
All I can say "its nice to be back in the saddle of this sweet ride"
Absolutely no knock on 883's just that the setup on the 2 bikes is so different for 2 different height people.
Both are a blast just that the custom fits my 6' body with skinny butt better than her 883 lowered and mid controls does. The 883 is definitely not lacking in power dept. although I have not been able to really feel it yet cause it only has 200 miles on it. Can't wait till she is broke in to dog it once and see what it is really made of.
