Just obtained my 3rd Sportster in my life; 1997 1200 Custom. 3500 original miles. It's nice.
Anyhow, I'm not sure why it is so difficult finding headers for this machine. It has mid mount controls, and rear pegs, but not finding much out there that I'm interested in. The parts fitment calculator on sites state that headers that fit a 1200 S won't fit a 1200 Custom.
What am I missing? The headers I want are the Bassani flavor.

They probably make some pipes, you just don't have much demand for them today, not enough to spend marketing money on. The old "H" style pipes actually make good power, better than a lot of aftermarket pipes. Get a set of Cycle Shack slipons if you have the "H" pipes and be happy.
