just wanting to know if installing forward controls is as easy as it looks.
jive got forwrds on my 2003 883c and love em. now ive just bought a nightster 3 weeks ago and hate the mids. i purchased the polished forwards since powdercoat will stick better, and now im debating on doing the install myself.
any opinions on difficulty level?
i do my own oil changes, and installed backplate and new ac on my 883c
I wouldn't say hard but little tricky, as long as you follow the instruction, you should be find. The hardest part I found is to remove the old shifter ****, it's hard to get a grip, a good vise grip will do. I switched to forward control a week after I purchased the bike, must have.
I just installed them on my Nightster last weekend. The primary side went pretty easy but i had to remove the front exhaust to get to the bolts on that side. Not a big deal until i snapped the tip of my alen wrench off in the back bolt for the linkage. I think the directions made it seem more difficult than it actually was. All in all it wasn't bad.
I've been thinking about adding a set to my bike, but it almost looks like the front exhaust pipe would be in the way. I've got the V&H 2 into 1 header, & It almost looks like I would have to get different pipes. Anybody run into this problem before?
