Default biltwell riser install advice, won't thread

Hopefully someone can help!

Trying to install biltwell slim risers.
However the 1/2" 13tpi bolt will only thread in a tiny amount. No where near what it needs too.

Any advice the thread in the riser runs about an inch deep but the bolt sticks at 1/4 and won't budge.

Any advice appreciated.

It's one of two things, the bolt thread is Metric/Standard and the riser female thread is Metric/Standard.

The other is that it's supposed to be tight so it doesn't come lose. But I suspect thread difference.

Apparently both imperial biltwell says takes 1/2" 13tpi and the bolts are those. Screws in fine until about 1/4" in then locks up.
No wrench can move it then.
Gutted as stopped my handlebar change in its tracks, gonna send lot back and start again I think with different manufacturers.

If both risers behave the same, it sounds like wrong threads.

Maybe you should just go to your local hardware store with the risers and check for the proper bolt. Unless you are absolutely sure what bolt is needed, ordering bolts online could get aggravating.
