Do you wear a full face helmet? I'm trying to figure out what to wear under mine to keep the lining from getting too sweaty on those hot, slow rides. Regular bandanas don't quite wrap around my big ol' melon. I might haftamake someoversized ones for myself.
PS I'm not changing to a smaller helmet; got too much $$ invested in my damn skull![sm=alien.gif]
PSS Wear the rag, man; with the leathers, they fit right in. Just avoid the unbuttoned shirt and gold chains, OK?
i wouldnt worry about it. Wear whatever makes you feel comforable. Sometimes it's good to do things outside of your "norm's". We go around once...Make it worth your while. 60 is a spring chickens age compared to 80...I say, go with the Do-Rag....
I guess my comment is who cares what people think? I have been given crap aboyut riding a "girl's bike" and I could care less. If it makes you comfortable, and wearing ones makes me comfortable, go for it. If someone says something about it tell them to F*** off.
They look stupid at any age. And I wear one all the time. Have a nice leather one I wear in cold and cooler temps and a few cloth ones when it gets too hot for the leather du rag.
I don't wear a helmet, but I do have long hair and wear one all the time to keep the hair out of my face and my head cool.
Myself (and many others I know) wear the Schampa stretch headware. (link below)..
It's available in many color combinations, and is made of a wicking and breathing fabric to keep you comfortable in hot weather.
They are also great for people with 'larger heads', as they aren't as small and tight fitting as other stretchable wraps. The fabric is form fitting, andif you want it will fit over your ears. This is good for those of us that don't wear helmets, as it keeps the wind from blasting in your ears.
Another good thing is that the stretchable material fits your head like a glove, and won't "blow off" at speed like many of the leather and fabric wraps that only tie in the back.
